Arthur Clarence Pillsbury, 1870-1946; photographer; innovator of panoramic and motion picture camera technology; amateur botanist; originally based in San Francisco, where he became famous for his documentation of the aftermath of the 1906 earthquake and fire; later based in Yosemite Valley; his firm Pillsbury Picture Co. sometimes used the name Pillsbury's Pictures, Inc.
Yosemite Falls Studio was founded in 1891 by publisher and printer Daniel J. Foley (1857-1934) and operated until early 1940s. During his time in the Yosemite Valley, Foley published a weekly newspaper, The Yosemite star, and a regional guide book, The Yosemite Souvenir and guide.
